Roll bar question for those who kept their sliding rear window???

I'm looking for some close-up pictures of how your back glass was done. I'd like to retain the stock slider and just replace the outer windows with lexan but I don't want it to look cheesy either. Also, are you pleased with how your back glass turned out? I only want to do this once so that's why I'm looking for ideas.

DealerJim,

Here are some pics of my complete cage. I had it done last fall (05) from the guy the JDM uses. I did request a change from the norm setup, in the form of tinted plexiglass. Julie says it was a bit more expensive, but it looks quite fly if I do say so. We get a lot of positive comments on the tinted plexi. All in all, its been a good upgrade. The wife even thinks it came out great (And she was opposed to the cage initially...)

Anyway, here are a couple pics. (Things might be a bit dirty, but these were taken when it came back to Jims from the chasis guy (cager)

Maybe Jim or J3 will provide some input compared to other cage jobs they did too.

You can't use the factory rear glass, because the side sections are bonded in with the frame. You need to get a 97 rear setup, and then the side windows can be removed from it. From there, you can replace with the Lexan of your choice.

Thanks for the pics and info guys. It looks like I'll be going with a solid rear window. The whole reason I was considering the slider idea was to utilize the stock window. Since this isn't possible, I'll try to find someone with a solid back glass that's looking for a slider to do a trade.

Sal, does the window have to be from a 97 model or can it be any F-150 from 97-03?

OK, for those that asked about fitment of the plexiglass, here are a couple more pics I took in the garage:

Here you can see the non-curvature of the plexi, and the flush fitment.

Here's one of the rivet placement.
