JBAs - done!
Got the JBAs installed this a.m. Very sanitary installation, mechanic said it was a piece of cake. Took him about 4 hours, but I hung around while he did it, and I didn't notice him busting his fanny, maybe because he gets paid by the hour, but more likely that he was just being very meticulous about seeing it done right. The instructions say to remove the factory studs and use the supplied bolts, but he chose to keep the studs. Said the headers were first rate, but the supplied mounting hardware was junk; factory parts much better. The JBAs slipped on the studs perfectly, no cutting, etc. All in all very copacetic. Don't notice a whole lot of difference in exhaust sound though, suspect it would take some Flowmasters to change that.
Now just waiting on my PSP filter kit. Sal? Sal?
PS: What do y'all do with those ugly caterpillers that came off the truck? Too big for paperweights, too small for anchors.
PPS: After driving for a while I do notice a distinct difference in the exhaust note - a very mellow, deep burble at low speeds. (Have not tried high speeds, can't afford any more 118 m.p.h. tickets.) But I have another comment. Everyone keeps saying how much more power the truck seems to generate after 3-4K miles. This is usually attributed to the engine "loosening up". I am not a mechanic, but I am highly sceptical of this theory. The stock tolerances are loose enough to permit WOT from the get go; how much "loosening" is going to occur in 3K miles? My theory is that this is enough milage for the factory belts to stretch a little, resulting in less parasitic loss. Any comments from you wrenches out there?

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.
'92 Civic Si, Centerforce Dualfriction clutch, no front license plate.
'00 SVT Lightning, silver, G-tech Pro, JBA headers (Sal's filter kit on order)
