Question What Type Of Adhesive?

Does anyone know what kind of adhesive Ford used on those plastic black thing-ies on the bottom corners of the truck bed's front wall? The one on the passenger side fell off. This may be a silly question, but what are these for anyway?

Same thing happened to me. I just cleaned the mating surfaces with alcohol and put on a thin bead of black silicone adhedsive. Covered it up a couple days later with the Bedrug. Don't know what they are for.

If you're talking about those large black plastic plugs, they're only used to fill up the holes. The holes are there to keep the box from 'floating' when it's lowered into the e-coat tank prior to primer and paint.
Since the box goes in front first it could float and come unhooked from the chains used to attach it to the overhead assembly line. The plugs use a simple friction fit and are installed with deadblow hammer.

Thanks guys for the info. I'm going to be covering it up w/ a BedRug, too.

jack77, did you reinstall the tie-downs after you installed the BedRug, or did you just leave them off?

WiteSVTLite,

I had the shop that I bought the Bedrug from install it. They did reinstall the tie downs. I think it helps keep the rug in place better.

I installed the Bed Rug myself and left off the tie downs. I think it looks better. I did buy a couple of clamp on tie downs that clamp on the rail and do not disturb the Bed Rug. Is that like having your cake and eating it too?
