crank pulley

crank pulley

i bought my lightning and it already had a aftermarket crank pulley kit. i want to go back to stock so i bought a stock pulley on ebay. the problem is i cant get the pulley to unscrew. because the engine turns over. any and all ideas would be appreciated. thanks, Dustin

Here you go... its on how to remove stock pulley and add new pulley but gives you the basic idea of what to do

You need a metal bracket to lock the converter up to the bell housing. It's probably something you can fabricate yourself.... or possibly borrow from someone. Call tim (chickenears) or any of the vendors One of them will have the bracket.

Doing it the way explained in the link above is a good way to crack your bell housing.

You can go the parts section of NLOC I'm sure there are plenty of people who would send you their locker bracket for free if you sent it back.

Its not surprising that RPMOutlet would post a backwards way to lock the engine....

Ouch ... Yes, as Doug points out, that is totally wrong ...
Wasn't there someone on here that cracked out the
passenger side trying to remove the stock pulley?

You want the force to be compressing in the direction of the
center of the housing, not trying to push the side of it out!!!
