Hey all you audiophiles..If you mount a large amplifier under your passenger seat, what do ya do with the jack and tire iron? I'm building a custom box to hold 1 8" JBL sub, the cd changer and storage space, but I don't really want to use the space for the jack. Any suggestions?

Seriously... I couldn't find a decent spot for them.. so they got yanked. I have ford towing and tire service for a reason.

Injection is nice, but I'd rather be blown. 99 Lightning, the best of both worlds!

 

You can mount a small amp behind the jack. I put the CD changer below the center seat, affixed to the bottom of the seat so that it slides with the seat. I have a large amp mounted to a custom box behind the seats that holds 2x10" subs.

 

Well you do have a 6.5 foot bed on your truck, just rig up some bungie cords to one of your tie downs.

I had the same problem the amp wouldn't fit under drivers side. I took out the jack and mounted it in the front corner of the bed since the box with two 12's didn't leave any room behind the seat. I would think a single 8" box would leave pleanty of room behind the seat.

 

Once my snuglid and bedrug come in, I'm planning on mounting my Rockford Fosgate Power 650 and a cd changer on the forward wall of the bed in a custom mounting configuration. This should prove to be a very interesting project.

i have my larger amp under the driver side the smaller under the passenger...2 12"s behind the seats..mounted my adjustable crossover in the driver map pocket to be different...pain in the butt to do !!!

I guess I answered my own question. I lowered the spare tire and reversed the way it hangs. Now I have a large "cup" instead of a saucer. I put the jack into a lage zip lock baggy, wrapped it and the tire iron in a piece of foam rubber and stuck the whole mess in the wheel. Cranked it back up and the foam holds the jack and tire iron in place. Think I have a scoshe less wheelspin as well.
