Question For those who installed the AIM 2" drop

Considering installing the AIM 2" drop shackles. I have owned several trucks in the past (all 4X4's), and have changed tire sizes and installed various lifts, which inevitably always resulted in a worse ride or a vibration or shimmy at certain speeds.
I am so very pleased with the ride and handling of the L that I do not want to risk ruining any of the ride qualities, but am interested in lowering the rear. For those who have installed the AIM 2" drop, is there any change whatsoever to the ride/handling characteristics (whether positive or negative)?

Peter,

I installed the AIM drop shackles on Friday, and I must say that the truck is 100% better all around!! Not only does it look better, but it beels better in turns and there is no vibration. The stock shackles were crap, and the AIM parts make the truck feel like a first generation Lightning ride level... Flat and even. The only possible negative is the payload capacity. Thank god I don't haul anything anyway!!!

Cool

Peter, I also installed AIM Friday, what a difference! There was no change in ride, seems to be better handling, no vibration problems at all. As stated before, you will lose some cargo hauling capacity, but I never really intended to haul anything but a$$ One of the best bang for the buck mods yet Just make sure that they ship you the correct part #!!

I installed Belltech's 2' drop shackles. The part # is 6400. There are two different holes and I used the last one, but the problem is now the back is low than the front by about a quarter of an inch. It might be caused by the extra weight of the Snuglid. I am going now to change to the lower hole. Later !

Hello All
You are useing same springs . Tow rating is the same , bed rating the same. Just will have to watch to see with load how close axle is to bump stop(mine has 3+in). Plus with truck droped in back, will notice load more than before.

Did anybody ever measure ride-height after the shackles(stock wells and tires). Ground to top bolt in rear fenderwell?

I'm sitting at 32.5". Would like a comparison....

Thanks...
