Magnaflow 12468 Muffler

Went and ordered a Bassani Catback from LFP and opp's not enough credit, this truck has drained every dollar out of my pocket. So I opted and bought the Magnaflow 12468 muffler from Troyer Performance. Got a confirmation from UPS today that it has been shipped to my contact in Florida. Should get it by the weekend.

For you guys that have had the 12468 muffler what is your verdict? And would it be practical for me to remove the 2 last cats for a better sound?

Let me know.

If this is the single, internal X pipe muffler then I recommend installing it first. It is a bolt on and I would test the sound with all cats then if you really want to wake it up drop two.

I think the maggy sounds great with the forward cats.

Good Luck, hope you get it by the weekend to install.

I just ordered Silver Bullit Yesterday, so we'll be putting them on about the same time! Let me know how your Magnaflow sounds!

Been running it for about 9 months. It takes a while for it to "break in", and even after that, it's deceptively quiet at idle and part throttle. But it has a deep, moderately loud note at WOT. I've had several people at stop lights compliment the sound of my truck.

Sorry to be negative, but mine sounded like drap, took it off since it sounded like a gaint vacuum cleaner at full throttle, like a choked jet.

No power loss or gain, just irritating sound. Don't bother with a Flo-master either. If going 2x2, Dynomax is the only one I would recommend and it became too loud. Now using two oval magnaflows and x pipe

I didnt like the Maggy after a while either. I got annoyed by the "chocked jet: sound at WOT. Idle and parth throttle were great though. now using maggy x pipe and flowmast single chamber race mufflers. MUCH BETTER. Louder but not over bareing and dont have the nasty sound the larger flows have. I have a clip if anyone wants to hear it.

I have the 12468 also and love the damn thing. It gets louder after a few miles. Its always sounded good and I get compliments on it all the time. I installed Dynatech longtubes with high flow cats not too long ago and its loud as hell at wot now and sounds even better! I think you will like it,esp. if you ever install headers!

It is a bolt on

I thought it had to be welded on because of in being about 1 inch shorter, well if is a bolt on better for me

Skank Dog and fullboogie,

Since you guys have and had the 12468, does it need to be welded on or is it a bolt on?

It's a weld-on. No big deal, though. I think it cost me $30 to get it done.

As far as the sound, you'll never get everyone to agree that any single muffler is the "best" sounding. I'm not into the droning flowmaster sound. And I just took a ride in an L with the Bassani catback setup, and I swear it sounds no different than my single magnaflow. If there is a difference, it sure ain't worth the $700 it cost vs. approximately $150 for the maggy and the cost to weld it in.

It is a weld on. Any muffler shop should do it pretty reasonable.

I had it on my truck for about a year.. It was too quiet for me. Sounds good when you get on it though.

Anyone have pics of the Magnaflow 12468 muffler? If the price is good, I'd like to have it. The one on there now is too loud.

I had the Magnaflow 12468 on my truck for 2 years. It sounded good with the stock cats and manifolds, but when I upgraded to headers and high-flows, it sounded crappy at full throttle. Like a wet towel flapping in the wind. I chucked it and put the Silver Bullet on there. Now it sounds like it should, and looks good too.
