I too raise the BS flag highly on the "needs oil for the rotor coating" theory. So someone really believes that Ford intentionally allows oil to escape from the engine to lubricate the Teflon on the rotors, knowing full well that:

1. The engine will burn oil, increasing emissions.

2. The intercooler will cake up with gunk in no time, which can lead to engine-blowing detonation

3. A fine oil mist will enter the engine, which can also lead to engine-blowing detonation.

This is dumb as a sack of hammers. Ford, by far Eaton's #1 customer, woud just tell Eaton to find a new coating - or just leave it off.

I will need actual proof to buy into this theory.

I went to my tuners today to check out my new KB and short block that just arrived and I asked him which way I should go. He told me that he recommends putting one breather on the filler neck in place of the oil cap and also run a separator. That sounds like the best idea to me. I asked him about the unmetered air issue and he said that all he does it fatten-up the A/F a little and it will run great. I will give this a try. I plan to pull the blower every 10K miles to check/clean the I/C anyway. So if there is a bunch of oil in there I might try something else. But for now, I am going with this idea.
