Broken steering stop

I have 30,000 miles on my L and this is the second time the steering stop has broken off! Both times have been on the drivers side. I'm not doing anything out of the ordinary with my driving habits. Since they weld in the stop bolt, the entire lower a-arm has to be changed! At least I'll get a free alignment too.

Mine is being done as soon as the parts are in. Drivers side, also.
15,000 miles easy and normal cornering. Rim is also going to be changed.

Make sure they align it properly and center your steering wheel. AND IF YOU HAVE RANCHO STYLE TRACTION BARS, TAKE THEM OFF! The lower control arm has to be changed just for the stupid steering stop.

I specificaly asked if my traction bars would be a problem. "No they will take care of it and won't hurt anything." Famous last words! Now they are replacing the bar they bent. And I had to take it back to center the steering wheel. It still sucks! I don't expect perfection, but I want it back in the condition I left it!

The warrenty work is being done by a svt ford dealer. I bought the forth year warrenty c/w all services included. I know the head mechanic so I have no worries.

Thank-x for the warning about the steering wheel alignment.

cheers
