Test Driving?

Well I am kinda pissed that I went to Test Drive a 02 Lightning and the dealer said I had to "Get A Deal" first before he would let me because its a "High Performance" vehicle I guess thats what I get for going to a Chevro**** dealer? anyway did any of you have any problems getting a test drive? I mean it was most likely because im young (18) but either way I have the money to buy it so its his loss but wanted to know if anyone else has encountered anything like this? I am going to the Ford dealer this weekend I called and they said I could so will see how that goes

I got to take a black one for a weekend to see if I wanted to buy. Needless to say I bought the silver one.

The original SVT dealership I went to would not let me test drive the truck, nor my father. They said the trucks were to "special" to let people test drive them. Went to another dealership the next day and got the L for 4k less and 2k more on our trade in. I wouldn't deal with a dealership who won't let you test drive the car. We are not talking about 80k + vehicles here, its an f150 with ground effects.

I hope you stopped by that other dealership that wouldn't let you test drive with your new Lightning.
I test drove a silver one and bought a black one. I turned 18 the month before I bought mine. -Mat-

I would not buy a NEW “Lightning” with more than 4 miles on it…. When I got mine, it was still mostly stretched wrapped… They had four others that where also mostly sealed. This dealer would also not let you test drive them… When I went to get it, I all ready knew what I wanted!!!!

The Ford dealership I bought mine from(used with 13,300miles) made me test drive it. I wanted it regaurdless but they said I had to drive it 1st. I still remember cranking it up for the 1st time the Magnaflow exhaust was music to my ears.

Thanks for calling me sport. It makes me feel young.

I was making a joke in reference to you saying the Lightning was just a f150 with a body kit, when we know it's more than that. WAKE UP

Sorry I didn't get your joke, I guess we lay folk up here in the NE don't have the same sense of humor as you. I was simply stating that the lightning, however much we all enjoy them, are just modded F150's and no dealer should deny test driving because its a "lightning". Didn't mean to hit a nerve there Sally.

They SVT specialist from the dealer drove to me (at work), handed me the keys and told me to go have some fun (HE DID NOT COME FOR THE RIDE)

I grabbed an old man at work and immediately started beating the ever living schitt out of it. Numerous power brakes, numerous high speed parkway blasts, and then me and the Saleman got yelled at the next day when I came to the Dealership to close the deal, turns out the truck was already sold and the MGR keep asking me if I was the guy that left the rubber all over someones brand new truck

I then had the Saleman buy me another one from another dealer (out of state), and I waited at the dealership 2 days later when it was delivered and WOULD NOT allow them to prep the vehicle or take it out of my site
I DIDNT WANT SOME A$$HOLE TAKING IT OUT FOR A TEST RIDE
