help

Last night I started my truck and there was an annoying sound coming from the driver side of the truck... I guess kind of near the firewall, but I really don't know where it's coming from. I don't know how to describe the sound, but it's kind of like a really obnoxious humming sound. This morning it did it again when I started it, then it went away... then it did it a few times while I was driving. It comes and goes and I have absof**kinlutely no idea what it could possibly be. Annnnnnnny ideas?

When you say "near the firewall", is it near the brake booster, or actually inside the firewall? Low pitch or high pitch humming? Maybe the ABS unit? You could pull the ABS fuse and see if it goes away for a while.

a nickle says..........

says its your headers vibrating. Mine does the same thing. I was convinced it was my electric fan causing the vibration when it came on but it's not. the sound comes from only the drivers side and it does it once in a while, usually when i come to a stop. It is sooooooo annoying but it does it once in a while.

Sounds like it's comming from the lower part of the fire wall .
