Made someone's night!
It's a kill story w/ a pretty cool ending:
On my way home from work I spied an Impala SS in the right lane in front of me, I sped up to get a closer look.The driver appeared to be an ordinary "family-type"guy just driving home. For kicks I lurched a bit to get his attention,nothing.I slowed up until he was next to me and lurched again.He jumps! I took off,got a good 7 lengths on him quickly(I was rollen at about 35 when I took off) and slowed for the next red light. He rolls up bext to me w/ a big sh#t eating grin on his face and rolls down his window,I do like wise. He says "I haven't done anything like that since I was 20 yrs old,can we go from a stop?!?" I say "sure,sure." Light changes and I'm gone,little over a 1/4 mile to next light and waaaaay out in front. Next light he gets behind me,big sh#t eating grin on his face again and he's clapping. I hear him yellin' "what the hell is that thing?" I yell back "It's a Lightning!" Retort- "It's damn fast!" That it is brother...That it is.

Good kill Hitman,
Isn't it a real shame that anyone that gets beat doesn't have the same good attitude. Nice to hear a story like this without the slower driver acting like a little spoiled child.

Nice 'kill' Hitman, I wouldn't call it a kill though, condsidering his nice atitude and all. I call those kind of runs, havin' fun. I usually resort to calling a kill when I race a jerk and kill his ego. So nice 'havin fun.' Too bad more people aren't as cool about it, I always try to give that kind of smile becuase I know I am damn lucky to drive this kind of truck, later on today. 9 HOURS!

There's a guy with an impala SS that hits some of the autocrosses I've been to. Cool car and it handles similarly to our lightnings with a bit less rear-end skittishness. Good 'kill'.

nice 'run', cool when drivers are nice bak. I tried to do the same thang the other night on a 'not-so'-extreme with 2 young kids in it. Thought they wuold go @ it, but no-go they just kept on driving @ the same speed. Needless to say I was dissapointed, wanted to tear the truck up & spit it out my tail pipe!
