Angry Rear window

Be carefull with the rear window. Mine shuts hard and when I closed it this morning it blew out the right side rear window. Around 500.00 for a new window but the dealer is going to cover it under warranty.

Hey ScottDog. Apparently you don't know your own strength......Try laying off the Wheaties in the a.m. Seriously, sorry about the window, I'm glad the dealer is covering it for you.

Has anyone ever noticed a small rattling noise coming from the plastic piece just above the rear window on the driver's side? about 2000 miles into the Lightning, I noticed it, didn't think it was worth taking to the dealer over, but worthy of being posted here, since we share everything anyway.

I STILL have the 'squeeky' dashboard! It's getting really old listening to that stupid thing. Dealer is going to try another fix on Friday.

Later, Jake...

I had that squeaky dash problem also. Could not find where it was coming from. After about 6000-7000 miles, it went away. It's magic.

Hey Tundra,

I think I have that same rattle on cold mornings. Once the interior gets up to room temp it seems to go away. I thought it was something to do with the seatbelt strap adjuster, but I'm going to check to see if maybe it's that piece of plastic you're talking about. Those kinds of noises drive me crazy.

I started to notice it was happening at certain rpms, so I figured it was maybe a resonance thing. I then took the necessary steps to test different squares of tissue paper for the same resonance characteristics and when I came across a square that did not rattle (first aquare, I was lucky) at those rpms. I then held an emergency meeting amongst myself and others that have any knowledge solving the problem (talked to mom's boyfriend about it). It was concluded that I insert the square between the plastic peice and the cab interior. Not sure how to properly fold the tissue square, I contacted some of my friends in the Orogamy (that paper folding hobby) industry in China, and they faxed me the proper technique to fold the tissue square. After much ado, I finally solved the problem. Good luck with that dash board squeek, sounds pretty complicated.

I can't believe you can drive your L around with that constant clanging CA. The Handcuffs I like but you need to put those rubber guards around the dog tags.

How many times did I point that out last weekend. I'll try and find you some rubber guards.

Hope your doing OK!

Yeah that is the rattling part I am talking about, Twisted, just thought I'd be decriptive and funny about the way I handled the problem. Atleast I was descriptive. Or atleast I solved the problem. Did you fix yours?

Tundra,

Toilet paper tends to wear out after one wipe or 2,300 miles (whichever comes first). I have found that bubblegum (the regular pink kind...grape's nothing but a sham) works very well for about thirteen thousand years (no milage limit). AND it's reusable for further squeek-proofing or a midmorning snack. Just my two cents.

They replaced the window with only one problem they dropped the window through the bed cover. Quality workers are so great. The dealer had two silver lightnings both with covers and six disk cd changers.
