T99, others:

Did you have any problems with the bump stops? Pretty sure I want to do this until I can get to Roush, but I'd like to get it all done at once after I start.

Thumbs up

Just finished installing shackles and am very pleased with results. Truck now sits level. Installation was not to bad. Just make sure you jack frame up high enough to take load off of shackle or the bottom bolt will not come out, I know this for a fact!

Nathan,

I don't know. I don't see any reason why they shouldn't work. If the shackles go on the rear spring eye (I think they do, it's worth 40 bucks to look though), then there should be no thang at all.

All I want to do is lower the rear end enough to get Beastie to sit level, front to back. That might even help a little w/weight xfer.

Did a side by side comparo with William Mallo's truck this afternoon. I am jealous as heck, it looks so much better.
He said it took about 45 minutes to do and I am going to get mine done in a week or so.
Looks like he had about 3 inches to go to the bump stop.

Question

Anyone that has lowered the back in order to level it, do you have any pic's of the L. I'd like to lower my L when it arrives, but it sure would be nice to see what it looks like first. Thanks.

Floyd91,

Bought my shackles from truck performance center. Came with instructions on exactly what to do. It's a snap. Took less than a half hour. I highly recommend doing this to your truck if the a$$ high look doesn't suit you. Truck now sits level. As you can see by my signature, mines not a lightning but I suppose it's the same thing. Oh yeah, cost me 40 bucks for the shackles.

Did anybody happen to get a part # for the shackle from AIM. I called and they didn't have time to look it up. Said it's not the same as the regular 1999 F150 due to 5 leaf springs instead of 3.

Thanks,

Rich

Installed mine today. Looks better, and drives somewhat different. Feels like the steering is slower, but it handles better. Still Hauls A.
