Question For those with Bedrug..Install Q

Everyone,

I got my bedrug delivered yesterday (309. plus S&H), anyway, the fit is excellent. I zipped it together and put it in the bed. The one thing I notice is that the piece that goes up the tailgate is a bit long, about 2".

Did you cut/trim the length of the tailgate area?? I realize I dont want to cut the top area, but I think the excess area at the 'bend' of the tailgate can be trimmed. I would just like it to look a bit neater.

Thanks In Advance,

I just tucked the excess in the loose area between the end of the bed , and the bottom of the tailgate. you really don't even see it.

The excess might be designed to hang down and keep dust from blowing up into the truck bed. I would do what BBQ did and tuck it in below.

That "extra" length is for the tailgate to articulate up and down w/o stressing the Bedrug. Situate the seam right at the bottom of the tailgate and velcro it down. Allow the slack to suspend in the channel created by the gap between the bed and the tailgate.

You're gonna love the Bedrug, it makes for a great place to take a nap when you get tired of fishing, hunting, racing, chasing women, beer, etc.

Brian,

If there is too much excess material then you did not mount the tailgate part correctly. The tailgate piece should be flush with the top of the tailgate. The excess is then tucked in to the opening between the tailgate and the bed. As others have suggested, this is a design element to keep the dust out of the bed. (After you get your SnugLid!)

I mounted mine incorrectly at first and finally figured it out. You are going to Love the BedRug! =o

Cool

Everyone,

Thanks for the answers. At the time of Post, I actually had non of the velcro installed yet. As per all the suggestions I tucked the little excess in the tailgate crack ( I said Crack. ) and I was satisfied.

On Friday night I completed the velcro install. It is awesome. The fit..The Finish. I am very happy with it. Anyone who wants some bed protection without the Rhino weight, get it.

BurnOut, I got it from california customs. www.calcustoms.com

Thanks again & Enjoy,

Question

Brian K, how big was the BedRug box? I ordered mine last week, but I was wondering if I could've carried it on an airplane. I bought it from California Concepts, too, and I'm going to be there this weekend.

WiteSVTLite,

Its too big for the plane. Its literally the bedrug (Length of your bed) rolled up. Mine took about 9 days to get to VA. Its worth the wait. Now I gotta get those Hooters girls to pose in the bed for a picture....

Enjoy,
