What is the best exhaust for these trucks as far as performance and sound. I would really like to have it as loud as possible and sound as good as possible and give the best performance. Thanks for the ehlp I am a newbie to the SVT.

There is no generally accepted "best":
long tubes
catback
tires
oil
air filter
torque converter
supercharger
traction bars
spark plugs
etc
etc
etc

All you will ever get is a bunch of different opinions without any clear consensus. And if you want that, just do a search on "exhaust." You will be reading for days - and still not have the answer.

You won't be dissapointed with the silver-bullet. As far as the others go, bassani, maggy, etc...you probably won't be dissapointed with those either. However IMO the borla don't sound half as good as the others.

If you really want the loudest and best sounding in my opinion get a set of longtube headers, hollowed out cats, mid pipes and a pair of cherrybombs(glasspacks). Ive been running that setup forever and it sound killer. Ill try and get a sound clip for you but it dont get much louder than that. It really sounds mean, scares the ***** out of people.

For deep nice monster sound, Bassani is the only one. Imagine the sound of the T-Rex in Jurrasic Park!!

Chickenears Bassani Link......

Andy

P.S. There is also a verrrry nice pic of the Chicken Girl on the Linked page!!

"Best" is all a matter of opinion. I have had multiple cat back systems on my '03 and '99.

Stock not included in the survey of course. My first purchase was the Bassani cat back and I appreciated the change from stock, loved the "off throttle" sound exiting the hwy, but something was missing. I then switched to the the single, internal X pipe, Magnaflow. I wanted a deeper throatier sound and in my opinion the maggy was it. I then made the mistake of going with high flow cats and everyone and their uncle could hear me coming - just too loud for me.

I just installed a maggy on my '99 and the previous owner came over his comment was "I was to nervious to change it out, but that sounds perfect!"

I think I picked it up and LFP for $370.00. Installed myself very easy!

Good Luck in your choice.

D-Day

How heavy was the maggy? I am trying to get weight on the catbacks to give my shippers to determine shipping cost to me.
Good Luck in your choice.y
