Finally received my 2000 L brochure from the local SVT dealer. I also got the one page supplemental that they give out. If you havn't seen these, they are supurbly done.
Good pictures of all they changes from 99.5 with exception to the overhead console. Visit your local SVT dealer today and enjoy!

 

PDLightning - Do you have an 00 on order? I am from Santa Clarita, patiently waiting for mine to come in. The used car manager at Magic Ford has a black 99, and I saw another one in the Ralph's parking lot last week off of Decoro and McBean.

Can you shed some light on something, since you have a brochure? I am totally in the dark about what sort of stereo is gonna show up in the 2000's. Is it just a single CD in the dash, or is it the Cassette in the dash, and 6-disc changer, or is it a single CD in the dash, and 6-disc changer? I'm expecting that its just a single CD in the dash for 2000, but it is prewired so you can have a dealer install the 6-disc changer...can you let us know what the brochure says? Thanks!

It will have a single cd in the dash and the changer will still be an option. Has your dealer given any dates on your L's arrival?

It will also have an overhead console, painted mirrors that will be color matched, the tail light lens is different and hopefully they fix the intercooler problem everyone's having.

I just ordered it a week and a half ago, and the order went into Ford's computer a week ago today...the truck isn't scheduled yet. *sigh* But the dealer told me it would be scheduled by next Wednesday. The original estimate was the second half of May for arrival. The wait is gonna kill me...but gives me time to sell my car, so that I can afford the thing when it gets here. Hehe!

Anyone know how much $$$ a Dealer Installed 6-disc changer is?

Hello all,

I have been reading the Lightning message board for a few days now. And have really enjoyed all the conversations that have taken place here, so I decided to register.

I have been doing some research for a L for a month now! And I have decided that I will be at the dealer in March to buy one.

I have a question for you all. Does it cost more to order your L, or just to go in and pick one off the lot that is already there?

At any rate it is nice to talk with you all and to know that there are good people out there willing to share information with eachother like all of you. Good to be a part of it.

I'm sorry to disagree, but the 6-disc changer is standard equipment for 2000. The ONLY option is the soft bed cover, which may, or may not be discontinued.

Answer to several questions...
1. Brochure states am/fm stereo cassette, 6 disc changer STANDARD, no indication of a CD in the dash, remote only.
2. Ordered from a wholesale dealer in Portland, Jose Mesa Wholesale.
3. Cant tell from the interior picture, the text in the catalog indicates # 1. It is correct that the tonneau is the only option available. The overhead console, rear tinted back window, color matched mirrors and the included "options" tow package and Remote CD are the only changes from 99.5.

 

Poorme: Depending on your area the best thing to do is snag one if you can. Some places it is tough to find them. You might want to check with your dealers to see what's available. I'd do it now.

I was just looking at a Black 2000 Lightning at the dealer yesterday and it still had the tape deck. What's up with that? If your right about the changer Baby Jake then that is a good thing. If it didn't come standard I would want to get one anyway's. Laterz

Where did you go look at that L at? I talked to a sales women, that is a friend of my girlfriends and she said that the 00 L's wouldn't be here until the end of March. She works for O'Mera Ford in Northglenn, CO.

It's down at Burt Arapahoe Ford and they wanted $34,000 for it. It has a sold sticker in the window so I don't know what the deal is. If you have connections at Omera it might be better to stick with them if they are a svt dealer.
