Sal or anyone else who has had the console of a 2000 apart. I bought a Valentine 1 radar detector and was interested in hardwiring it in and thought it would be TOO easy if I could tap into 12v from the power in the console 4 inches away. I could just start tearing into it but since I had access to this great source of knowledge I would ask. Plus its 58 degree in Dallas - Far too cold to be working outside working on my truck. ;-)

Had 87 Turbo Coupe traded for
92 F150 XLT 302, Put K&N Filter, cat back and Chip on 92 Still not enough.
Finally took delivery on 2000 Silver Lightning 2/28/00 - WOW ! Love it

 

It's just as easy to wire it in the fuse panel and run the power cord up the pillar and under the edge of the headliner. That's the way I wired in my V-1.

Exactly where are you going to mount the V-1?
Last car I was able to use the visor clip and clip it above the rear view in the headliner. Do not think this will be an option with the console.. right? I use the concealed display.

I was going to use suction cups to attach right above mirror below tint. Run wire 3-5 inches to Console get 12v power... Done
