I was wondering if anybody on this board can explain to me how the Lightnings are distributed. I notice in this post that there is a Silver L availiable with no buyer, but there are poeple waiting on there Silver L to built, seems like Ford would build and send out the ones that they have buyers for first, instead of having one sit on a dealers lot. Just confused on how the whole process works. Thanks Rob

I was told Wednesday, so if no Lightning by tomorrow I'll start to get worried..hehe. I was told Monday that it was sitting on a lot somewhere in DFW.

One week for delivery from the plant..one week for delivery across town...hmm.

Jeez, Pritch, ya gotta allow some time for the salesmen and lot boys to have some fun with it first, dontcha? J/K. Hard to make any sense out of Ford's distribution system. I don't know if they know what they are doing. The silver L. that I ordered is still "clean and unscheduled", but my dealer is getting another silver L. in a couple of weeks for "stock" so he took pity on me and is selling me that one, and mine will go to "stock". According to their own policies Ford is not supposed to do this; they are supposed to fill all the customer orders first. If anyone knows why they do this I think the rest of us would like to know.

 

With all the guys getting Silver Lightning's in the Dallas area, we're gonna have to start a club (that is, when mine comes in). Good luck, Pritch. Got my fingers crossed for ya.

Mine took a week to make it from Mesquite to Carrollton too. Unbelieveable.

Silver, the wait now is about as unbearable as I can imagine..hehe. Everytime I see a picture of a L or better yet a silver L, my pulse rises and my right foot gets mysteriously heavy
