L vs. M-5 BMW

I went for a road test in a M-5 bmw yesterday and it was pretty impresive. My L goes good for what I have but, I think this 5 will smoke me. It has a 10 cyl. 500hp. @ 7700 w/smg tranny electronic shift variable valve/cam timing, can switch fom 400-500hp via computor buttons. Man this sh*** is bad to the bone, it was raining so we couldn't get good traction but 3 gear grabbed and away we went, it will stop on a dime at 100mph via 14" front12" rear brakes. But I still love my truck for $30,000.00 vs. $81,000.00 base price for this V10 rocket. :santa: P.S. I'm waiting for a dry day for a repeat performance with this car.

Try the X5 in the wet then.

You can throw these into tight corners at high speed and even the Hot Hatch at Brigade back off and mine is only a 3tr diesel - try the new V8

Not as much fun as the 'L' in the dry.

Miss my old Cosworth 300bhp and loads of opposite lock in the wet

That new M5 is some quick motor but for the price tag it should be.
OK till the VT goes wrong - and they do normally once your warrenty is out.

OK, I guess I am stupid for thinking this post is ridiculous...

What's the point ?

M5 - $ 80+K

L - $ 30+K

Truck vs. Sports car ???

I understand power is addictive, but what's the point ?

This belongs in General Discussion...

Flame Suit On !!!!!!!

there was an article in the MPH magazine about the M6 that was a great read. That car had 600 hp I think......crazy......Any M-class BMW is going to be a sweet car... I love the M3's...but for the cost, I'll keep the L.

I think hes asking whats the point on trying to compare the M5 to the Lightning. They are obviously 2 completely different vehicles so there really is no comparison.

One thing for sure ! I don't want $1200.00 payments per month. So I get to drive them for free part of my PT job.
The 6 series has same V10 both 507 hp. but, slower 12.7 1/4 mile vs. M-5 12.5. P.S. My point is just that I love my truck! not trying to discredit the L no, diff. then comparing a Viper V10 with an L two, diff. animals !
