Fear a 95 T/A ???
I am not up to par on F-Bodies like most of my Lightning breathern, but what will a stock 95 T/A run 0-60 and in the 1/4 ??? I ask only because my younger bro is picking one up on Thursday and he has already thrown down the gauntlet. I don't want to be caught sleepin' when we run, which knowing me and my brother it will be sometime Thursday evening.
I am on my way to fbody.com to get some me some knowledge, but it always helps to get as much intel as you can.

hey Bret, My lil brother has an LS1 in his 2000 camaro Z-28 and he belongs to the local fbody club. The fastest I have seen an LT1 run that was full of bolt-ons was 13.7 at 101 and that was this weekend in fact. Most I have seen run from the club is a modest 14.2-14.5 and they are under 100mph. Fortunatly my lil bros car is turning 13.4 at 105 stock so I get to have a real race here in a few weeks.

Big "E",
Thanx for the low-down on my bro's soon to be T/A,I wasn't all that much concerned about it to be honest. I have run a few F-bodies on the street and have shut all of them down,BUT they were autos not 6 speeds(there are a few Ram-Airs I am keeping an eye out for).My bro's is a 6 and he's not a bad driver, but w/ what you have said I'm not gonna' worry even when he starts modding...Unless he goes SC or Turbo, then maybe.

You won't have any trouble even with a 6-speed '95 LT1 car...not if its stock. Many times the owners of the 6-speeds are slower (especially if you race from a dead stop) b/c they spin the tires easier.
But in _typical_ air/track conditions they won't run better than 14.0-14.2 and most I've seen are a bit slower than that. They are definitely slower than a stock 4v 4.6 Cobra.
Now, the LS-1 is a whole 'nother ballgame. Not saying those can't be beaten by a stock or relatively stock L (at least to the 1/8 mile), but most of those run mid-13s on radials off the showroom floor at 105+mph. On a good night, they'll run low-13s.
My brother has a '99 Ram-Air T/A and its no slouch. The L should be better out of the hole, but on the top-end of the 1/4 mile track the T/A would be coming on strong.
But, the '95 should be an easy kill for you unless its got some mods to it. They can easily be made to run mid-12s without nitrous, blower, or turbo, though.

Hitman,
You might be aware, but just in case....
Since our L's are stubborn about shifting between 20-40, he may have an advantage from a rolling start at those speeds, especially with a 6 speed. Before I recieved Sal's chip, I was left by a few T/A's running in city traffic. Sal's chip has about obliterated this problem though.... You'll catch them by 50 or 60 even if you are stock...
I'll admit that I am not a great driver, but I'm learning with my L!
Let us know how it turns out!

Being it's "all in the family" I don't even want him to pull on me one little bit! For him that would be a moral victory.I can't even allow that! I'm sure we'll go from a stand as well as a roll,so I'll see.Chip & filter are in the near future...Just in case.
