My tune must be off. I just got my chip back from JDM i have JDM long block with ported heads crower cams stage two 6# lower 2.75 upper ported eaten phenolic spacer ported plenum. cold air single blade throttle body fluidyne heat exchanger electric fan 255 walbro pumps. 50# injectors mas air meter sct 2800 ftvb with extra transmission cooler bassani cat back exhaust tr-6 plugs and several other mods. anyway this morning i only pulled a little over 500. 528 horsepower on dyno at the wheels at 5000 rpm only wanted to check air fuel ratio Lightning is not missing idles good. UNLESS my chip is not tuned for its max. preformance. i was thinking i should be well over 600 horsepower unless JIM wanted to wait till i got more miles on motor i have 2600 miles on motor ????

Two words...ported Eaton. I don't think you'll see much over low- to mid-500's with that.

You are over 600HP, at the motor. With a ported Eaton I wouldn't expect anything close to 600HP at the wheels. Throw an 8LB lower on and see if you pick up anything.
If you want 600RWHP you better invest in a KB or dare I say Whipple. -Mat-

You are making the right horsepower for that combo. Now spray it

Tom,

Its tuned pretty strong but not set on kill. What tune did you use and can I see a copy of your dyno graph? The guys are right you wont see much more than 540 at the tires with a ported Eaton. With a MP we could get you to about 575 and then KB or like Mat said "dare i say whipple" will get you over 600. Call me sometime early next week and Ill talk with you.

Red face Ok Jim I Was On Street Tune

Jim i was on street tune but i didn't want my lightning on dyno rapped out i would only let him run it at no more than 5000 rpm. i am scared of dynos they can knock out a motor if you leave them on there to long. i only wanted to check air/fuel ratio TOM/

I bascially have the exact setup you do and I did 524 STD @ 5000rmp. I think you are right on.

Yea now I really know you are where you should be. Your truck can make potentially 540-550 RWHP. If on your race tune with straight 100+ octane unleaded fuel. Also just to keep in mind your injectors are the 50#s which are really only reliable untill about 600 HP, so if you do want to change to a KB, Whipple, MP, etc... you will want to go with 60#s. When you can send me a copy of the dyno so I can check it still. Ill be in South Carolina till monday, give me a call at the shop Tuesday, we can talk about your truck some!
