Build Date of My L?
Hi all. I ordered my L on 2/15. I have an order confirmation (print out) from the dealer, but he can't seem to be able to get back to me with a build date. Does anyone know if and how I can get the build date on my own? Thanks...glad to be part of this forum.

Congratulations on your order, you'll LOVE IT! Unfortunatly, I don't have accurate info on obtaining a build date. My dealer just called me when the invoice, w/build date, came to his desk.

hoo boy, you are on the first rung of the ladder we all climbing, or have climbed. In a week or two your dealer should receive a DORA (Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement- whew) from Ford. Ask for a copy. Near the top you will see BEGIN ORD followed by a 4 digit number. This is your order number. Your dealer can track the build date with this number. Each week he gets a computer printout showing the status of each order number. Supposedly it is generated Tuesday PM's, but my dealer usually got it Wednesday. You will probably have to bug him to find out where your vehicle stands. I ordered #9403 in January, and it is still "clean and unscheduled" (Aha, but my dealer got one for stock, and I am going to take that one, on or about March 13). For a while yours will also be unscheduled, but eventually you will get a build date (narrowed down to the week), and a projected delivery date (also narrowed down to the week. If you want further information, e-mail me at the address in my signature. God, its exciting waiting for one of these things. Almost like when I got my first .22 rifle on my 10th birthday.
