Question x pipe exhaust question

Just bought ($75.00) an x pipe that cobrarose (thanks Brent) had on his red L for a day. It was too loud for him so I went ahead and took it off his hands. He had it fabricated locally here in Boise and the quality is good and the truck looks stock. It is a bolt on replacement for the stock muffler and seems to add a small margin of power. We ran the trucks after the install and they ran identical. His has a modded air intake and MAF meter(Red early build 8?? & blower shows 11 psi), mine is stock (Black # 2883 & blower shows 8-9 psi)except for the K&N filter in stock location and now the exhaust. It is nice to see how mods (he has a superchip on order) affect these beasts when you can run them next to one another. My question is how will this removal of my exhaust affect the engine internals now that the backpressure has been lowered. I have heard from many that the cats provide plenty of backpressure and that I sould just enjoy the tunes. PS Who needs a radio now.....

Reposting to get to the top. Talked to Brent (cobrarose) today and he had the same luck with this thread a month ago. We all seem to have an opinion on all other mods, why does nobody comment on replacing the muffler with a simple bolt on x pipe ($75.00)to get an exhaust sound that others are paying much more for? Is there a possible affect on the engine running with no muffler or do the cats provide enough back pressure? See above post for full story.

Shonut,

I don't think you are being purposely ignored, but I don't know the answer to your question, and had hoped someone else might know.

Anybody?

PS jiggawatt if you read this, I am going to my favorate alignment shop, setting the alignment and welding the washers in place. Once set it should not move. Screw ford, ill fix the problem myself.
