Question What information is my Ford Dealer required (or able) to give me?

Hello to all:

Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

What information (order confirmation, date of build, etc.)is the Dealer required to supply to the Customer once the Purchase Agreement Contract has been signed.

I signed a Contract on 1/31/00 for a 2000 L, with the stipulation that I would need the truck before late summer. The Salesperson and Salesmanager stated that they could not guarantee a date of delivery. However, they informed me that they would put my name on a 2000 L that the Dealership had ordered in December '99, and would at the same time change the ordered color(Red)to the color I had requested (Silver). They called me two days later and informed me that the aforementioned arrangement had gone through.

Since then I have spoken three times to my Salesperson, and each time she says she has no new information for me. I would really like to have more information about when I can expect the new Creature.

Thanks in advance to anyone who may have the requested data for me. I also would like to say how much I have enjoyed reading all of the posts in this Forum. I have found lots of useful information, a spirit of cooperation and camaraderie, and much humor.

You will see it pretty soon.Within a month I would say.The way it goes is each dealer gets them basically in three's.So every dealer will have a few. They do not send all 7 to one dealer and then 0 to others. Its not that way. If you are getting an early one , Im sure its coming soon. What dealership did you buy from?

Basically the dealers can know all the facts if they choose to..It depends if its "just another sale" or If they are a excited about it too.I know most of the SVT dealers in the north east.Tell me which one ,I am pretty sure who it is.Its up to the dealer to take the 10 min. it takes to research it!Sometimes it is too much to ask

You should be able to get a confirmation back from Ford that at least has your order number ( 4 digits). If they cant or wont give you that then ask to see the boss. If you get the order number then go out to a window sticker and get the dealer number. Then send me an email and I will see if I can help you get more info.
Good Luck

LightningQuick and Silver_2000_Soon? thanks for the replies.

I spoke with the Sales Manager for Tasca Ford in East Providence, RI and he remembered the transaction. He restated that the Lightning had been assigned to me and that the color had been changed to silver. He also gave me the Vehicle Identification Number, but he did not have any idea when the truck could be expected.

Although minimal, it was reassuring to hear this limited amount of information.

I guess I'm just getting myself too excited reading about all these F-150 Online Members who are getting their 2000 Lightnings.

Many thanks again for the inertia you have provided to me to reach beyond the Salesperson.
