Definitive Answers on Warranty Voiding?

I did a search and I have come up with all different kinds of opinions and replies on this subject. What exactly will void a warranty on a lightning?

I can see where changing a pulley on the vehicle would void the warranty...IF something went wrong with the engine.

But, what about exhaust systems - catback, headers, catted-xpipes? What about a CAI?

Before anyone says "you gotta pay to play," consider those people that arent building a high hp race truck. We just want some basic bolt ons that may help the truck perform better and actually prolong its life.

So where does one draw the line? Does anyone have any factual information, possibly from SVT, that they can provide?

Factual data is irrelivant. All that matters is what the DEALER, it's techs, and it's service manager decide what's good or bad. What they report or don't report, is what the deciding factor is. I've had customers get warranty claims denied because "there high flow air filter let too much air in the engine".

Your best bet is find a dealer that's friendly towards mods. They are out there. Usually run by fellow performance guys.

If your area has a local forum, ask around there for good dealers, thats how I found mines.
