Way to go Bruce! Looks great. I was wondering who would get it done first, you beat me to it. I won't be able to work on the truck until Monday now. Couple of questions if you don't mind. I only want to remove one leaf, will the original bolts still be too long? Did you replace the leaf clamps that were cut off? Have you checked pinion angle? I went ahead and ordered shock extenders and actually received them yesterday. I would think with the 2" shackles and leaf removal they would be necessary. After everything is put back together I'm going to relocate the sway bar endlink mounts also. The only other thing that comes to mind is the bump stops. I'm hoping I can just cut down the stock ones. I'll keep you posted.

Edit: What did this do to the clearance between your 58"ers and exhaust?

As for the shock extenders I e-mailed so cal today....Does anyone else make them? Now for the c-clamps,there are 4 of them, 2 of them hold the top 3 leafs and the other 2 hold the bottom two.Since I removed the bottom two leafs I did not need to replace any c-clamps..Now it does not matter that the bolt is too long but there is not enough threads on it...I think the threads stop on the 5th leaf so if you take off one leaf you might still need new bolts or re-thread the bolt. There might not be enough threads on the original bolt to clamp down the leafs...The pinion looks ok,I drove it around with no vibrations...The 58in torque bars help alot..... When I cut a coil in the front I will have to replace the bump stops with smaller ones...

Good info Bruce. I checked my pinion angle today, with just the 2" drop shackles and I'm at -5 degrees. I assume removing a leaf will take me even further away from the -3 degrees that is optimal from what I have read. So, I will probably have to play with the shims. If the bolt does not have enough threads for me, do you think I can use a thick washer or plate on top?

I was going to use washers but you can not get a washer that has big hole in the center with a small outer. Its hard to explain... The bolt end is rounded and not that big.It goes into the plate on the axle...Now if you go any wider than the rounded head,it wont fit into the hole...I believe its a 15mm bolt.So if you have a tap kit(threader) you might be able to add some threads to the original bolt...
