Tires

Well guys, after 18K on the F1's they are about 80% worn, so I think it is about time for a full set of shoes. I am not interested in anything better than the F1's I just want a good set for daily driving. I checked around my little Island and there was only 1 store with the F1's and they were CI$365 or US$445 each So I think I should order form the states. So where do you reccomend that I check for tires and which ones do you suggest? Oh by the way I have a friend that has a wharehouse in Florida that will receive and ship them to Grand Cayman for me.

Let me know

If you just want a good DD set, get Nitto 404 in 285/50-18. They are only $125 plus shipping or $143 at Discount tire.

I just picked up two new Nitto's from Discount Tire. Shipped to my door for aprox. $220 per tire.

Very happy with the customer service rep, time frame to delivery and of course the tires. I wouldn't recommend the Nitto 555r's for a long lasting daily driver, but boy do they stick!

Good Luck!

Get your video recorder and/or camera out and have a buddy take pics and video of you finishing off your F1's. All these burnout pics you see on the forum were done at that time I bet. Of course there are those that have more money than sense.
It will make a great desk top or screen saver for ya!
Check my gallery, have a nice pic of a friend doing the same...........

You have to give your tires the proper burial/cremation

Did the same thing, except I ordered the 305 Drag radials for the rear. Customer service was great and had the tires in 3 days. I believe it was $940 to my door

FG - I am thinking you only take the L out on sunny days? Do the drag radials give you any traction in wet weather?

Sorry I have no intention of H.J. the post, but need to know about this tire.

Back to tire talk!

Thanks, but I went with the Toyo Proxies. They are not bad, they do make a lot of noise when i mash the go pedal especially with the 6lber Give me a shout sometime

Okay,

I must be a total wuss with my L or something. I'm still on the first set of F1's on my truck, and I just cranked over 33k!

of course I put a bunch of miles on driving 100mi a day for a couple years, but still!

Toyo's

I went with the Toyo's. Very happy with them. Fairly cheap ($650), Quiet, and they stick way better than my F-1's. If you spin them, they are very loud.

I think that the truck looks better with the Toyo's because of its square shoulders it appears to fill the wheel wells better.
