Post Fog Lamp Replacement

Does anyone know whether the PIAA 990HID can be used as a direct replacement for the fog lamps?

If so, does anyone know where to get these at the best prices?

Thanks!

What a wonderful idea. The stock units don't put out that much light and all the lens covers are cracking. What are the lens covers of the PIAAs made out of? Are there clear covers available?

www.hidlights.com sells a 9007 HID replacement kit for the F-150. There's no price on the site yet and I'm still getting a quote. You can find it under the applications page. You can email ben@hidlights.com if you need to get in touch with them. I figured HID main lamps and HID driving lamps would be awesome. The only problem is that HID lamps are not hi/lo swithcable...you lose your brights. But then again, you might not need it if you have both main and driving lamp HIDs.

The advantage of doing this is that it draws less current (equivalent of a 35w bulb), thereby reducing the load on the alternator which then allows you to produce more power...hahaha, excuses excuses!

According to Ben of hidlights.com, the 9007 kit for the main lamps "is $950. Power of the HIDs is 35 watts rated at 3000 lumens which is 3 times the output of a standard 55 watt bulb."
