I punched my truck WOT on the HWY today b/c i was coming up on my exit and was 3 lanes over.. Well When I did it the truck lauched off and when it went into 3rd I saw black smoke poof out the side of the truck... Just wondering if this was normal

 

Its normal most Ls do it... just running a little rich...

 

maybe it was carbon being blown out the exhaust, maybe it was a little oil from the PCV intake design.

Not to worry mine does it once in a while.

As long as it's not a big white cloud you saw you are fine. Just a little rich at tip in. Sounds like a safe tune.
