Unhappy Help removing driving light

On the way home from work this evening, I hit a dog doing 50 MPH. When I stopped to survey the damage, I was afraid to look at what had happened to my beloved ride. Judging from the sound, it was not going to be a pretty sight. Amazingly, the right driving light was hanging by one wire, and was totally intact. The bumper seems to have been pushed in about an inch, but there is no obvious damage to the eye. The dog was all over the side, but seemed to readily wash off. Question: How do you remove/attach the driving light. I'm asking in advance before I go to see if it is in the manual, in that I know a lot of the Lightning specific things are not covered. Going to go try to have dinner, and then figure it out if there is no answer forthcoming. Thanks. I'm trying not to cry.

This place is amazing, I sit down to a fast dinner, and have an answer 10 mins later. One confusion point: The light was knocked out of the plastic housing. I see how it attaches back into the housing, but I am confused by the second wire. There is two wires with slip on clips that go to the light. On stayed attached to the bulb housing, but the second one came off and is just sitting there, and it is not obvious where it goes. I guess I will take the second one apart if an answer does not come soon. Thanks

my broken spares have the clip on top, the other must be inside. if i try to unclip the top, the outer lens will shatter on my broken ones. i do know ford only sells it as an assembly $70-100 depending on you dealer. some people have replaced the bulb w/brighter, but i don't know about the outer cover, which i'm sure you need.
pt#f67z-15200-aa lamp (complete assy)

Cool

The "globe" fits in to the bottom of the plastic housing and this serves as the pivot point for the top to snap in place. I have been looking everywhere for just the globe portion of the assembly and have come up empty-handed so far. That piece has got to be available somewhere.

Amazing. First of all thanks for the quick responses gang - this is an incredible group. I just quickly took the good one apart, and went to school on that one. Those spacers are a bitch to hold in place whilst threading the bolt through the hole. I had to call on some feminine fingers for a bit of help. I finally got everything put back together, and the surprise of the century is that not only did the lenses cover not break, but the damn light actually worked. To put it in context, this was about a 60 pound German Shepherd hit at about 50 mph. That front bumper has to be fairly reasonable. To look at it anything but closely, you would think the truck just came out of a car wash. The inside front bumper bolt was sheared slightly moving the bumper, but again only close inspection reveals that. My hope is that it can be bent to normal without a lot of hassle or expense. If you could see how much dog was on the side of that truck, you would have thought a tow truck would be needed to get it home. It is cleaned, and the L looks like new, and ready to hunt for unwary prey on the morrow. Thanks again for the quick help guys.

Sandy,

This might be a little morbid, but you really need to feed your beast more often. To have her out hunting for live meat is unsightly at best and a bit gory to boot. It might also hack off the neighbors if thier pets start coming up missing. Of course, you could always blame the gators..... (j/k)

I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune and am glad the damage is limited. As I'm sure you're aware, it could have been much worse.

Pretty hard to swerve out of the way, even at 50 mph, eh? I am glad you only had very minimal damage done to your lightning. Just remember, it wasn't 1200 lbs. Similarily, one of my parking lights were hanging by its wire and was working, both headlights were also working, as I drove 20 miles with the hazards and brights on. Welcome to the club.

Yes Tundra, I did think of you realizing that things can always be incredibly worse. Chuck: I'm retiring immediately from my meat hunting quest - at least using my L as the capture medium.

I recalled I think it was Wyldeman posted a link to [URL=http://www.texasmustangs.com[/URL] at least that is what I think the link was I ordered a set of fog light shields\lens protectors from them yesterday. They gave me a part # E7ZZ1520-8 for a fog light from a 93 mustang GT. I didn`t order the light kit for $56.00 but think this is one that will work on our 99 trucks. Anyone know for sure. This number does not correspond with what MRBBQMAN posted above. They also offer a lens replacement. This would be the route I go if it will fit.

Jeff
