Lowered DA BOLT...pics included.

Lowered the L about 2" in front yesterday by cutting one coil only from the oem coils and removing the bump stop. I really like the look and ride, not too low but just enough. The ride feels like stock and although I have not tested it going around corners with any good speed it should handle much better.

The shocks are still stock and have 2" shackles out back, was thinking about taking out one leaf for another 1"–1 1/2" drop in the back but I like the rake I have now which is a 2"/2".

That looks good! You could lower the rear more to level it out...but then it might sit too low. It's all on your tastes though!

Looks great, what did you use to cut the coil with?

Thanks for the compliments, as for cutting the coils I took it to a performance shop where they took the coils off then I personally taped off the spot where to cut which was directly one up from the cut off end of the coil. The cut was done using a cut off tool which is the right way to do it, do not use a torch as this will weaken the coil.

Bert.

Looks perfect up front! I'de say 1.5-2" in the rear would be a nice touch to the rearend.

make sure you take your L to get aligned. It will eat up your tires real quick if you don't!

looks awesome.. we've been having some good weather lately too!!!

I can't think of one, it looks good and rides like stock with better handling. Sorry I don't have pics of the cut off pieces but if you take the springs off just put a mark directly above where the spring ends and that's one coil which equals around 2". Later I might install some Belltech nitro drop shocks to match up with the drop.

One of my friends did this and had no problems with alignment, did you do this mod and did you need alignment?

BTW have you been to the Tower Shops in Davie on Friday evenings? I'll be there this Friday.

Thanks..Bert.

I was just going to ask if your "before" picture was taken at Tower Shops, but according to your last post, I'm now sure it was taken there. Do many other Lightnings gather there on Friday? By the way the front looks great. I also agree that the rear now needs to be lowered but I'm one to talk, my truck still rides at stock height . If I can, I'll try to make it there on Friday.

Hope to see some more new L's there Friday, usually there are anywhere from 5-8 L's or more at Towers and a lot of other cars including exotics, just two weeks ago there was a very rare 800 hp twin turbo Vector, all carbon fiber body. Bet a lot of people don't know that car is an American super car from the early 90's, everyone was in awe at the sight.

Here is what I mean.

Looks good. I just installed the FRPP kit and you have about the same drop I do. I'm going to leave mine alone. If it was any lower, I'd drag getting into my driveway.

I installed cam bolts but I'm not sure if I had to have them to get my alignment correct. Be careful when and if you get an alignment. The alignment shop used F150 specs on my truck by mistake.
