Question need a straight answer...

ive been reading posts for awhile, but ive stil not foundmy answer.
Arethe drag radials the same size as our stock tires?? i need to know, cause i dont prefer the look of big wheeled drag trucks, just a preference

It's been stated in several posts that the drag radials are smaller than the stock tires.

Now I have a related question - I've noticed many of the hot rods use LARGER tires in the back - wouldn't that decrease performance, sort of like going with larger gears?

I`ve always been told that a taller tire will handle the initial shock of a launch alot better than a shorter slick.That`s why on a taller tire you see more of a sidewall wrinkle,and that stored energy is used to spring you foward. But on the top end of the track they can be a handful

Thanks Spiro for the info, that does make sense. Even with the Cal-Tracs pre-loaded I can feel the rear of the truck pushing forward after launching.
