Post Calling BABOLT- Lowering kit

Babolt

I was thinking about lowering the Lightning,
but had a few questions. I read back in earlier post that you paid $750.00 for the installation. How did you get such a great price when I see other people paying $1500.00?? It sure looks great on the Bolt.
Also do you know where I can get a dealer list for here in OKC, OK?? Do they have a web page with dealers. What do you think about the bel-tech lowering kits?? What kind of tires are you using right now?

Thanks,
Terry

Nathan,
I'm going to be so proud of the Yellow Beast your going to be sick of seeing yellow. I've been to almost every dealership in Oklahoma looking at different Yellow Paints on vehicles. I finally seen a Ferrari 355 at a ISSZU dealership being serviced, I tried to get the paintcode from the vehicle & could not find it & no one there knew it. So I researched over the internet & found it. I then talked it over with the bodyshop manager
where my Lightning is being worked on and he said no problem. He is going to order the Ferrari paint.

Later,
Terry

Is that for real - servicing a Ferrari F355 at an Isuzu dealership.

Kind of like getting a Lightning serviced at WalMart. No problem!

Hi Terry!
Saw your post, so here is the story. My friend Hot V6 had his truck lowered by Roush well over a year ago. I really liked the why it handled. To be honest it was better then my Lightning when it was stock. So I talked to Steve Ford at Roush about lowering my Lightning (several times over the period of a couple of months). I must say I was nervous about doing it for fear that it would not look right. My only regret now is that I did not do it sooner. What helped to keep my price down was the fact that I did not use the Bilstein shocks. Again, I also knew that the stock Lightning shock was a high quality shock and I also spoke with the guys at Steeda (they were just starting to lower Lightnings and were using the new Edelbrock shock) so I wanted to leave some options open. I do not have Steve's phone number handy right now but I will edit this post Tuesday morning and add it. I have no comment on the other kits to lower these trucks because I have not seen them. Good luck on the Ferrari yellow it should really look cool. About the tires, what else should you use but the Goodyear Ferrari rubber. Thats what I am putting on my Lightning. One Bad A$$ Fordari truck.

PS. Had to edit the post and change the Big to Bad. Yea. its Big but Bad is Better.

Thanks BABolt,
I appreciate the help and guys like you make this board invaluable. I'm still going thru the learning curve phase & would like to save a few dollars for other upgrades. I will probably go with the Roush kit if I can find a dealer. I'm spending quite a few bucks but the Yellow Fordari should be quite worth it in the long run. I will have a 45k truck with about $22K of my own money into it after the total rebuild & customizing.

Thanks again & will post pix after completetion,
Terry

Terry,

Here's Steve Ford's number 1-800-59-Roush ext.7110.

Spoke to him a couple of times regarding their Roush wheels but decided on the Lightning wheels instead. The Roush wheels were more than twice the price!

Just a little request. A photo album at Zing.com with the details of the rebuilt and customization of your Lighting (all the in- process details) would be a great view. Thanks.

BABolt & Thunder,
Thanks for the phone #, and I enjoyed talking to you the other night Thunder. I will be taking digital photo's of the complete process & slowly updating a album with zing. I have to justify the 2 digital cameras (Olympus DL600 & Kodak DC260) I have or my wife might try to sale one. I will probably drop by Friday in take a few pix but I will be sure to eat because the guys there warned me about seeing the Bolt taken
completely apart might make you lose the old appetite. It should be a very interesting project, they completely taken out some of the interior pieces already and its just the beginning. I will keep the board updated on the progress and timeframe of events.

Later,
Terry

Terry & any other interested parties
I just spoke with Steve Ford at Roush. Here are his two phone #'s
Cell phone 1-734-516-3746
Office 1-734-779-7000
He will help make connection to a Roush facility / rep, near your area or they can mail order the items to you. Hope this helps.

Question

Hi guys-

Sorry to bring up this old discussion again, but...

I checked Roush's webpage for local dealers and found a couple. Before I commit to ordering locally, is if there is a particular part number or kit number that I would need to order? Or is there just one standard kit for *all* F-150's?

I'm thinking I'd like to duplicate what BABolt has done, if at all possible.

Or should I just "shut the heck up and give Steve Ford at Roush a call".
