Which transmission to get?

My tranny is making a winding noise in 1st - 3rd, no noise in 4th. This just started recently. I also had the snap ring come off of the coast clutch drum some time ago. I've also got about 90K miles, and thinking maybe its time for a rebuild or new transmission. With FactoryTech MIA (Mr. Evans hasn't shown up in a while), who's got the best price and peformance for a transmission? Also, does anyone sell a performance rebuild kit I can do myself?

I can't personally recommend FT anymore. My tuner actually recommended the monster box to me a couple years back but now he is totally against it. Most who are in the know seem to all recommend BTS now days. If I was in your boat I would go that route.

Tranny

Ditto what Don's Bolt said. My 2nd "Monster Box" went South about a month ago, I got a new BTS tranny from JDM and I love it.

BTS without question. The best 4R100 on the market.

LFP sells a kit put together by Art Carr. That is what I run in my truck. My brother did it probably somewhere are 15,000 miles ago(I had a broken leg at the time and couldn't do it myself). It is a nice kit that still shifts great and every minute it has been in my truck I have been making over 500RWHP and now am closer to 700RWHP.
Like said before though, don't attempt this unless you have done transmissions before. Not very many people can rebuild transmissions and even fewer can do it well.
On second thought all I have heard are great things about BTS and I have actually been thinking of contacting him and seeing if he wants someone to build his transmissions up North and giving one a try in my truck. -Mat-
