Post Rivercity results

Well went to the track last night. First time I have ever been to one. Got to run twice and my times were about what I thought they would be, but still was not happy. First I ran a 14.1299@96.25mph. My reaction time was only a .8860, not too good. Only got one more run. After about a 40 min. wait in line, ran a 13.9793@97.19mph, but my reaction time was worse this time .9530. This is with no chip just an airaid air box. I think with a good reaction time and on a cold day I could run a 13.7, and with a chip I think I could break 13.5. Anyway I had fun though. Might go back next week. Later!

Caka,

Those aren’t bad times for the first time out. If you already know this great, but from the sounds of your post it seems you’re assuming that your reaction time has anything to do with ET. It doesn’t. The ET clock doesn’t start running until after you move. Your reaction time is the amount of time it took you to move after the GO light. You can loose a race to someone with equal or even greater ET if his or her reaction time made up for the time difference. That said, the big factor with a relatively stock truck on ET is the launch. So how was you 60’ times. I would guess they’re in the 2.0 – 2.15 sec range which is real good on the F1 tires. How many miles do you have on the truck and what was the weather like? What’s the track altitude? All these things come into play. Remember have fun………

My bad, I think I knew the reaction time had nothing to do with the time, just forgot. Also, I did lose the second race but had a faster time than the other guy, just like you said, so how I forgot this I dont know. Guess I'm a bone head. Anyway, my 60ft times were 2.1003 and 2.1001. The weather was about 70 or 75, but I dont know the altitude. I did have alot of fun though. Thank for the info.

Caka,
Those are great 60' times. I wish my track was as well prepared as yours. The reason why I asked how many miles the L has is because they do seem to gain HP as they get above 5Kmiles. Your MPH indicates that you’re a little shy on HP, but then maybe that explains those 60’ times. What does the L weigh in at? Unless your 350lbs like me (my L has a 4900lb dragstrip weight), your L should go faster. Did you have a full tank of fuel? The spare tire and hitch are good for 100lbs or 1MPH (maybe .1sec). All that weight adds up.

Had a little less than a full tank of gas, dont know what my truck weighs. I think its raited at around 4600lbs. If so, then with my 97mph, rear wheel h.p. should be no less than 320. Thats using the ASP dyno calculator at their web site. I dont know how accurate that is though. I weigh about 185. Check out these numbers 4900lbs@97mph=349rwhp
4600lbs@97mph=327rwhp
Does this sound right?
