Cool

Many things similar to a lot of other members.

My most time consuming hobby is Radio Controlled Aircraft Pylon Racing. If anyone wants a really "go-fast, heart pounding, next best thing to sex" hobby, try this on for size.

3.5 lb aircraft, 50" wingspan, 0.40 cu. in. race engine - 2.2 HP, 19-20,000 RPM on a nine inch prop (only wish we could get this sort of HP/cu. in. out of a Lightning) 140-180 MPH.

3-4 Airplanes take off from standing start at one time. 10 laps around a 1/4 mile triangular course - 1st over fnish line without cutting a pylon wins. Typical 20-30 feet off the ground. You want speed, you want excitement, you want to see some smoking holes, this is it. One minute and 20 seconds and you are exhausted but exhilirated.

Truly a blast!!!

Hey Mark, the money adds up quickly with that sound stuff. My Audio Reserach preamp alone was $6500 - Ouch! Love that great sound however. Oh, I did go inexpensively on the speakers though - only $8500 for the Mirage M1's and Velodyne sub woofer.

Christy, there was another flame war. I'll reserve judgement for now but would like to say that I am sad to see this kind of behavior continue. I had hoped people would learn from eariler incidents. <sigh>
