Exclamation Chip Reburns..

Hey all, Sal here. Unfortunately I have been forced to make a decision that I didn't want to do. As you guys know, I offer no-charge reburns on my chips, to help fine tune them to an individuals truck. But as of late, hardly anyone has been returning the old EPROMs and this is really costing me a lot in EPROMs and shipping. So from now on, I will STILL offer free reburns, but you will have to either send your chip back with a $5 fee, or send a $10 fee outright for the reburn to cover the cost of the EPROM and shipping. Thanks...

And people said that YOU don't run your business right! LOL
Maybe some of those EPROMS will find their way home now.

Sal,

Please tell me you got my last chip, I sent it the day after I got the new one. I didn't want to mess around and forget again.

Thumbs down

I'd like to personally thank all of you who took advantage of a persons generous offer, and selfishly didn't return your old EPROMs. It's great to know that when you bend over backwards to treat someone right you can still count on them to jam it in you while you aren't looking.

$10 may not be much, but having to send it creates additional down time that was heretofore nonexistant due to Sal's trust in you guys to return your unused product. Wyldman, I'm not talking about you.

Hey Typhoon, Sal here. I don't know if I would call it selfishness, maybe more just like forgetfullness. But whatever the case, it's costing me money. I have no hard feelings, and I hope nobody feels that way towards me, it's just a business decision. Considering that most Autologic tuners charge $100 for a reburn (myself included for those who didn't but the chip from me), I think $5 or $10 isn't all that bad. I still like to take care of my customers, I just can't eat the expense anymore.

Hey Sal, I had mentioned that I wanted the re-burn of the new chip. You had said to return the old one (no problem), but I still havent received it yet. Not sure if you did send it yet or not. If you didnt send it yet, wait until I get my Dyno #'s for you to take a look @ & see if there are any improvements that you can make specifically for my truck. Im on no hurry BTW.
Thx in advance

This thread may help explain why good customer service is in such short supply these days. People take advantage. I haven't received an L yet or bought anything from any vendors mentioned here. But I have been impressed by Sals interest in the customer. Some comes from the fact that he is a fellow enthusiast, but some likely comes from desire to do the right thing. Here is hoping that he doesnt lose that desire....

P.S. Spoke to SVT today they said year old web site would be updated 3/1 and that production started this Monday and would run thru Aug.

Sal,

I really need to move this thread to a more appropriate forum. It involves your business policies, not general discussion about Lightnings or Lightning products, so it goes in the "Announcements" area of the vendors forum.
