I have a good question for you?
I have a good question for you?
On my 03 L when I got about 12,000 miles the passenger head light burned out. I replaced them with true whites. (I think that's what they are called) Okay, all is great for the next 30,000 miles, now the passenger head light is out again. Niether time was water in the head light, like when the fog lights blown bulbs.
My question is, has anyone else seen/had this happen??
Thanks in advance.

YES. That's why they sell replacements. Seriously I would not worry about it.
An old tip my father told me years ago was to replace both bulbs anytime one burns out. That goes for fogs, tails, parking etc.
As above the oils from you skin can cause premature failure of a bulb.

Nope never touched them, and I always replace both bulbs if one burns out. I thought may a short someplace, or power surge. Because it's was the passenger head light both times they burned out.

IF your using those blubs that are blue in color, they are cheap man. They always go out. Ive worked at a import shop for a long time and we sell those bulbs and they are not reliable. Whats the name of them?
Because of the long drive through the country side I have daily I usualy used the higher wattage bulbs. I found that with the high power bulbs a good bump in the road with them on will make the fail. The higher the wattage the more frail they were. I went back to factory and there still in there. The same goes for the glass lens on the light. The higher the power the more heat and a little cold water on a hot glass will make it shatter.
Hope this helps,

They are the Sylvania Cool blue, and yes the glow blue, and pretty bright, or so I'm told and by other cars/trucks flashing all the time, so I lowered them a little, and hardly ever get flashed now. I replaced both at the same time 30,000 miles ago, after the factory one blow at under 12,000. I was just wondering if it could be a short in that headlight.
I just went ahead bought the cool blue ones again. The price is right.....CHEAP.

On my motorcycle, I put about 50,000 miles (1985 Honda CB650SC Nighthawk W/76,000 now), and about 45,000 miles (1990 Kawasaki ZX750R Ninja) on one bulb. Halogen bulb 55/100watt bulb. My riding bubbies love to follow me all night long. hahaha

I like the cool blue just fine, and you cann't beat the price for the brightness.
