Post Anybody Try More Than a 100 Shot of N2O

i've been playing with my nitrous system again, in this cooler (safer) weather. i have no problems w/100 shot with stock chip settings with std 93 fuel. go to a 125 and i get slight pinging. have any of you had any success beyond 100hp with a chip designed for higher settings.

Mrbbqman,

Try raceing fuel (104) that should eliminate the pinging with the 125 shot.

I think dad has decided he is going to stay with the 100 shot.

Cool

Where do you guys mount the bottles? I wouldn't think that the bed would be a very good idea.

Mine is mounted in the bed on the passanger side. It is the only place I could find that was safe. I also didn't need to run a downtube, as it is outside the cab.

The Snuglid keeps it covered so no busy hands can get at it. In the summer, when it's really hot, I'll bring the bottle into the house.

alpha, i'm just playing around with mine right now, w/g-tech, so mine is on passenger floor. i use med & industrial grade stuff and fill my own. if i was using that sulphur added stuff, it would go in the bed. one small leak in the cab, and you would need an ejector seat. most of the set-ups i've seen on this list, are mounted in the bed.

MRBBQMAN
I have used several 15# bottles of NOS
with 150 HP jetting. However everthing
including the chip is factory original.
Also there is no detonation.

Now I don't have a blower, but I do run 10.5 to 1 comp and use a 150 shot. I strongly encourage everyone to invest in a timing retard and few gallons of unleaded race splashed into your tank fro the bigger pills. It is very cheap insurance. Let's face it; do you really want to take a chance on that expensive shortblock? Detonation will kill ANY motor. By the time it's audible enough for you to hear it's pretty substanial. Most people get scaried about running multiple power adders, but the truth is their a match made in heaven when used correctly. The N2O acts like a chemical intercooler cooling the incoming boosted air. Typically, you see even more gains than anticipated due to its cooling effect. The problem is when people get greedy and add more boost and more N2O to a motor with high cylinder pressure to begin with. It becomes even more compounded when you add a chip( that was not designed for N20 applications) that adds more timing. IF you like to live on the wild side throw some good gas in. I'd hate to see any of you guys blow your stuff up. I know how expensive they are. When it comes to blowers and/or N2O learn to become diligent listeners of how your motor sounds at WOT. It potentially could save you some green.

hey guys, I have been looking into setting up a system for 100hp shot. I know that this will be expensive, but in summits bible (their HUGE catalouge) it has a progresive controler that adjusts the amount of N2O & the time as to when it lets it in. For $500 its not cheap but when you start to play with stuff like this ALL the insurance you can get is the best way to go. It will also help control wheelspin off the line by activating the N2O after you get rolling.

if i hit the nitrous any time in 1st , tires break loose, i hit it after the 1-2 shift and go. full bottle passes have been 12.7's on gtech, 2nd passes slow to 12.9's. this is with superchip in stock position , Sal's filter, and stock F1's

Actually I'm on both. I've been on the DML for the longest however. I've tried to get them to use bulletin boards like this one. Who wants to sift through all that unwanted mail. I wish there was a truck board for everyone.
