Question Newbie Help - SVT FAQ

I lurked for about a week and have found lots of SVT sights to read, BUT I have a question. Has anyone compiled a newbie guide ? Lots of questions come up over and over. For example my questions revolve around getting details from Ford about delivery etc. All L's are built on one line right ? How many L's can that line produce ? Any clue why the Ford SVT web site has been idle for a year ?
Thanks In advance

Silver 2K...

I can't help much, but.....

Howdy Dammitt! (Aggie Welcome...)

You could do a search on the threads for each topic.... I lurked for a month... Now I'm adddicccted to posting...

Also great to meet these guys! Especially here in Texas! Try to meet us at HRP Friday... I know its a long drive, but it's a blast. Maybe try to coordinate the trip with a few of the other Dallas folks... Sixpipes? Mumbly? Roush folks?

Welcome Silver 2k,

The data base accumulated here can be daunting. The search engine helps a lot, but the best advice I can give you is go back aout 6 months and start reading.

There are tons of juicy tidbits to learn, a lot of ground covered on many topics and a whole lot of craziness generated by some of the most demented individuals you'll ever have the pleasure to meet (myself included, hence the name). Don't get in a hurry, enjoy yourself, this stuff is a blast to read.

One piece of advice: Place an order for your filter kit (including the prefilter for the open cone units, if you decide to go that way)and chip ASAP. I reccomend Sal's PSP filter assy, w/the Outerwears prefilter and the PSP chip. This is commonly referred to as the "PSP full meal deal" around here. The SuperChip is also a quality piece. Either way, it's a win-win situation. The rest of the goodies discussed here are up to your personal taste, but a chip and fresh air intake are "must haves".

Good luck and don't despair, your new baby will be here soon. It's definitly worth the wait.

If you haven't already, check out www.nloc.org it's another huge resource for L info of all available years.

Question

Thanks for the encouragement. Still have trouble figuring out what to believe. Lots of info on web says Job One wont start till 2/21 or after but folks are posting build dates and delivery dates before that. Seems odd that in the Internet age when Ford just announced deal to get all Employees a PC for $5 a month, the enthusiast customer like us cant get any info from Ford on the web that has been updated since 1999. The current SVT Lightning site loooks like it hasnt been touched since 98.

If it helps to allay your fears, I ran a 12.85 last night at HRP w/all the bolt ons in my sig. I don't put junk on my Beastie. I don't own or sell any of this stuff, I just use it, to good effect, apparently.
