sfi bellhousing/shield
sfi bellhousing/shield
all right you guys running the numbers and those that plan to i need your help. there's a company interested in possibly making a sfi legal bellhousing shield or possibly a bell housing that would require major modifications to the tranny but would make our trucks legal in the eyes of nhra/ihra.

i'm not associated with these guys but came across them on NMRA's message board. this post is not an advertisement just merily them seeing if its cost effective to make bell housing for the modmotor equipped vehicles.

There are already several companies that make SFI modular bellhousings for most popular automatics. Making an actual bellhousing for the 4R100 would be quite the task, because you'd have to cut up the case since it's all one piece. A shield would definitely be easier I would think.
And if I remember correctly, our trucks do not require an SFI bell down to 10.00 ET. Just a trans shield/blanket. NHRA rules state the bell is not needed if the vehicle came supercharged from the factory.
