Question Chip Question

Hello all..

I guess this question is for all the chip gurus.. I heard early on that the new computer in the F-150's ( including Lightnings ) cut spark or timing during the shifts to save wear on the transimission.. I know my 99 " Farts " threw the exhaust when it shifts at WOT.. I figured it was running to close to the rev limiter.. Is there any truth to the spark/timing cut ?

Much thanks..

Cool

True BigPoppa, even heard they drop 4 cylinders during the shift...dunno if thats true though. They also retard timing off the line, very noticeable differance with a chip. Used to squawk the tires 5-10 feet off the line and go. Now I drop the hammer at 15-20MPH and it burns the tires all the way to 50-55MPH. Also barks the tires hitting second with controlled launches, although since I put Sal's air filter on the banshee scream drowns out the tire squeal.
