Wink Fun Mustang Kill

I have always loved Mustang GT's. One of the quickest "feeling" cars I have owned was my '85 GT - the last year they were carbuerated. I used to love eating vettes, and Camaros with it. When I first read the tests of the L, I did not expect it to be able to take a 5 Liter Mustang. I was also semi-disppointed with the L's performance pre Superchip and Airaid air box. I have been dying to find a Mustang that wanted to play to test the L. Well, my dream shot came this evening on the way home from work. A pre '99 Mustang GT tried me on. Fortunately for me, he stupidly wanted to go from a running start - I can't launch as my earlier post will attest. It was no contest. It was so much fun to watch him disappear in the rear view mirror. He took one more shot at me, with the same result. Yes!!!!

Injection is nice, but I'd rather be blown. 99 Lightning, the best of both worlds!

Hey Hotrodsix:

That Stang of yours must be a fun street ride. You be the king of the road bro! I'm glad I didn't try you on - I would be licking my wounds now. I love Mustangs, and have owned three, and my son drives a tricked out black 99 GT. However, eating a little horseflesh is sure fun for a big 'ol 4700 pound truck - supercharger notwithstanding!

Skydive - You are right when you say whipping on Mustangs with a Lightning is really something. I am still amazed that a 4700# truck can do that. My friend, BABolt, especially enjoyed whipping on '99 Cobras out at Milan Dragway. I use to race BA's Ranger with my F-150 and would put the hurt to him. Then he went out a bought a Lightning! It's pitiful when the race is already over at the 60' mark!! That Lightning gets small really quick in the view out of my windshield! Of course, all of this is just for fun. If I took it seriously, I'd just go home and get that Mustang! :-)

Wink

as pictured above, the front to rear tire ratio, is a definate clue as to whether or not you want to take on any car, with your pickup truck.

Well guys, bottom line is - it is sure fun to still be a kid!

And BBQman, I will be watching carefully for those tell tale tire ratios.

This a pic of Trace's girlie 5.0. ;-) 12.0@111, all motor. 11.30@118 on a itty bitty 90 shot of giggles - and there's more on the way! That's a daily driver car with A/C and stereo. (I'm just bragging on her... this is wandering off topic, I guess)

cover of motor trend is the ultimate sleeper, lingenfelter's 226mph twin turbo c5 vette, it's looks like it's off the showroom floor. even under the hood, there is no clue, the editors had to get a jack and creeper to find what he had done, found the incon turbos in the suspension. high 10's w/slicks, high 11's w/stockers. 0-60 3's
