Post Chip Problem?

The traction problems thread reminded me to mention this.
The other day I was doing a burnout and hit the rev limiter. No big deal, I thought. When I started going again, I noticed the vehicle was VERY sluggish and wouldnt break about 100mph. I pulled off the road, turned the vehicle off, then back on again and the problems went away. Any ideas?

Nathan:
There was a post a while back on the same thing. Guys at the track after a burnout would find that the truck wouldn't shift to 3+ and the charger wouldn't kick on.
Their resolution was, and correct me if I'm wrong, was to allow the truck to drop into 3rd. before returning to the tree. Don't lock it in low gear on the burnout. Sound right?

Hey guys, Sal here. There are a few conditions that will cause the PCM to shut off the boost to the motor, via the boost control solenoid. One of them is hitting a limiter The PCM will wait around 20 seconds, or until the key is cycled to shut off the lock out. This is to prevent furthur damage to the motor in the event of a part failure. As far as this happening at the track as it has happened to many of us while racing, this lock out is caused by excessive trans fluid temps from prolonged burnouts.
