Here's a thought for all of us poor anxious soles waiting on our new L's: In just a matter of days, some of us will have our brand new L's being built on Monday. The question is, who are the lucky ones?

 

I probably won't see mine for quite a while. I didn't place the order until early January. As long as it shows up by late May, early June, I'll be happy. Sure is hard to wait for a new toy like this!

I wonder if there will be a problem with the first set are if they were able to work all of the bugs out in 99s, wasnt there engines needing to be replaced and something abou gaskets.

I just received my VIN and tentative delivery date - week of 2/21. Woohoo! Plus, my allocation number is 1. I guess that means I'm 1st to get one when they arrive at the dealership.

Maybe I'll see you this summer at the Lupe' we go there every 4th of July for a long weekend, I plan on the wife driving the "L" and I'm going to ride the Road King. We stay Huaco Springs Camp ground, by the road down on the party end (look me up)it's always a good time.

I'll be moving to Georgetown around May, but Gruene/NB won't be too far away. It's about 60 miles which is what I currently drive Mon-Fri one-way. My wife and I should be able to make it down for an afternoon. I'LL be driving the L, however.

 

I'm number 5 of 8 scheduled for my dealer, so I'm looking at a March (hopefully) delivery. I got to drive a '99 L extensively over the weekend. What a truck! I can't wait for mine.

I did not want it sooner than march 15, this is not good. We will have snow when I get it...

An older friend of mine in high school (early 60's in Alabama) picked up spending money by runnin' a little shine in his plain-Jane, refrigerater white '63 Biscane sedan with a blueprinted 409, a 4-speed and 6 cylinder emblems on the front fenders. Talk about a sleeper! Carried almost 25 gallons of whiskey in tanks welded under the car. I could tell you some stories...

Can anyone help a Newbie ?? I placed an order for an L but I am getting depressed by seeing 1999 build dates in August.... I CANT wait till August. In a week the weather in Dallas will be perfect for driving a new truck. ( And my 92 F150 302 may be on life support by then )

How can I tell when mine will be made, all I have is an order confirmation from the dealer. I placed the order 3 weeks ago lets say Mid Jan 2000. Dealer said it would be here in March April time frame

I've seen at least one post of someone getting their VIN. Does anyone else have theirs? I'm supposed to be #2 of 9 allocated to the dealer I'm getting the L from. Guess I'll call him tomorrow and find out when it will ship. Has anyone else on the board bought their L from Leif Johnson in Austin TX?
