Angry Bad install day

I installed the Airaid today. Had a couple of problems. The four stock bolts that are supposed to be re-used to attach the box to the air flow meter assembly, wouldnt work with the nuts that were provided. Had everything else installed and ready to go,so I figured I would drive to the store to get four bolts. No big deal, right. Wrong, I get one block and my throttle hangs up at about half throttle. Pull over pop the hood. To make a long store short. The little bitty rubber gasket between the air box and A.F.M. got sucked into my supercharger and part was hung up on my butterflies, thats why my throttle hung up. I only found about half of the gasket on there,I guess the rest is in my motor or supercharger or something. Will this come back to haunt me later? It runs fine now. More bad news, installed my super chip, but truck dies out after a few seconds. Then wont re-start. Has this happend to anyone yet? Bad day, bad day. The airaid is great though, like it alot.

What type of gasket? Rubber?

I was talking with one of the guys, and he mentioned that your probably gonna be ok.

If it's a rubber gasket, and it did'nt damage the shaft/blades of the supercharger, then it's probably been dragged through the manifold, supercharger, heads, and then it'll probably be chomped to hell in the pistons, and blown out through the exhaust if anything is left by then.

As far as the chip goes, uninstal it and speak with Mike Troyer!

My chip did that, it wasn't making good contact. even though i duct taped it to the computer, the truck would not start and run properly until i pressed against it "hard", no trouble since.

Thanks for the info guys, I might try to install it again.Did yall have to clean the module plug extensivly before instal, and did yall remove the entire comp. box to install the chip? By the way that gasket was rubber, but very little and soft so hopefully it did what you said. Tha Airaid sounds great, and seems to add power too, cant wait to take it to the track.

Yes, i removed the computer and scrubbed the heck out of the contacts b4 installing the superchip. some of the guys use a shim to hold it at the right angle and keep it in place. Sals uses a computer ribbon connector which solves the "movement" problem.

You should have new bolts w/ nuts in the kit to mount the air box and meter, check your patrs list you shouldhave 4) 1/4 - 20x3/4 bolts w/ nylocks. I called evergreen and talked to John about the hood clearance problem. I was later told by Roger that he is the owner, he was very nice, interested and honest w/me about everything. If your parts list didn't list that stuff let Roger know and he will relay it to them. Sandy had 2 bolts that were a little short and by the time I got my kit that was resolved. they seem to want to provide a quality product with total satisfaction . And Yes sir it works! the chip makes a huge difference also!

I have installed both Sal's filter and the Superchip. Both were very easy. However, with the chip it is very important to make sure you scrape all the gunk off of the contacts. I used a flat blade screwdriver to get most of it off and then buffed the rest off with the scouring pad enclosed with the superchip. I then dabbed a bit of isoproypl alcohol on with a Q-tip and cleaned it off with a rubber pencil eraser.

CA,
if your getting your stuff from Sal, you won't have any of the fitting problems above. some of us couldn't wait, as he's only 1 guy, and bought the other brands and have to adapt them ourselves. Sal has the advantage of having a test subject 24/7
