I talked with the dealer who gave me an exceptional deal (promised not to mention the price) on my 2000 Lightning and asked if he minded I list his name in this forum. He gave me the go ahead. There is nothing in this for me, just wanted to let you potential buyers that MSRP is too much. You will probably save at least $2K. This is a straight buy... no trade ins. Hope this does not break the rules of the board. Just hearing of the prices that are being paid wanted to let others know we have alternatives.

A little further clarification: This dealer is not in my state, but the vehicle is being dropped shipped to a dealer 20 miles from me. Tried to talk to that dealer, but ran into the MSRP plus. Boy is he going to be suprised when the Lightning shows up with my name on the invoice.

The Lightning seems to be a very high demand vehicle in Arizona, as most dealers want 5K over list and easily getting it. I was lucky to have a dealer even speak with me about full MSRP. Other dealers here will not even take money down, they said when our Lightnings arrive we will try and get the most we can for them. The truck market in Arizona is absolutely incredibly strong. There are too many people in this state such as moms driving their kids around in 4 wheel drive Suburbans and the like. Explain to me why a mom needs a 4 wheel drive that she will never use. There are too many people with too much money willing to spend it. Anyhow, I'm jealous at your good deal, but glad to hear someone is able to do so. sorry for the long post.

The Banshee is not a car, it is a Yamaha quad ATV. 2 cylinder 350 cc two stroke motor.

I stripped the Banshee to the bare frame, welded, filled, sanded entire frame, had it powder coated. From the frame up, I have made it look like a show piece. Every part, including nuts and bolts is either polished, chromed or powder coated, lots of aftermarket polished aluminum parts. Motor is ported, polished, oversize carbs, Toomey T5 pipes and silencers. This is my pride and joy. I spent 3 solid months in my garage after work and weekends polishing every aluminum piece on the quad and putting it back together. One of these days I need to get a digital camera and post some pics.

Thanks for the info to the Tucson dealer. I was fortunate enough, however, to have ordered mine at Five Star Ford in Scottsdale for MSRP. I was 2nd on the order list.
