Billet Grille help.. quick
I need to order billet grilles because I got into an accident today. I figure while the bumper is off getting repainted and whatnot, I might as well put on the grilles I want. Now I know there's some of these grilles that are known to 'peel'... Which one doesn't?? Is it the trenz one?? I need help quick because I need to order these tonight... my truck is going for an estimate tomorrow morning at my body shop and going to the dealer thursday to try to solve my problems. I've been complaining to the dealer about my brakes because I've had problems with them for MONTHS... and they say NOTHING is wrong with them, yet they keep locking up and my truck does not stop... it's almost like my truck is sliding on ice, that's what it feels like.... but apparently nothing is wrong!!! (I've only been close to getting into accidents multiple times). Well maybe now they'll understand something IS wrong since it caused me to hit a brand new Mercedes today. Not only do I have to pay for this b!tch's car to be fixed, but I have to pay for my ***** to be fixed too AND whatever the dealer is going to charge me IF they happen to find the problem this time. The bad part is that I couldn't even give this lady false information if I wanted to, because I was dressed for work with my ID around my neck and everything... turns out she works at the same hospital and we were both on our way there!! Wonderful!
If anyone can help me with the grilles, it'd be greatly appreciated.... thanks!

If you have it documented at the dealer[work orders] then IF they do a try and charge you go get the zone reps number and also ford customer service and explain what you have been thru[bring copies of the work orders or atleast the numbers] and they shuld help you out if not go to a lawyer with that info and what just happend and see what they can do for you.Bet you won't pay anything if handled rite.Stan

Thanks guys for the help. Stan, I'll see what happens Thursday. I told them I don't want the truck back until they find something wrong. I have a feeling they're going to give me ***** about my line lock also and try to blame that... even though the problem has been going on before I even had that installed. I KNOW they have it documented that I've complained because it even says something about it on the receipts I have from them. They said they will have a tech road test it with me on Thursday and I told them I can almost guarantee it will not even do it with them in the truck... it's not something that even happens everyday. It's beyond me what the problem is/could be. I feel like Rob sitting here rambling! $%^$%^&#$%*^*(&*!!
I thought long and hard about this today, and I decided to fix my truck after the winter. As much as I wanna fix it now, I think it'd be pointless to get my front bumper repainted and then drive it through the snow, rain, salt, etc. My truck is my daily driver so I really can't just park it somewhere for the winter. Besides, my funds are going to be low after this c*nt comes back from her Mercedes dealer with an outrageous estimate. I might as well bend over now. I think it's more important to fix the other problem first so this doesn't happen again.
I like the harley grille, but I don't wanna be bothered with buying 3 grilles as opposed to 2.... I'd have to spend a crazy amount on the harley upper, then buy a j jent lower AND a 99-00 L lower. It looks nice, but I don't wanna be bothered with that. I can't have insurance pay for it either, because my insurance company doesn't know about what happened. I'm not telling them either. I can't afford to have my insurance rate go up... 1400/yr is enough for me. I have to pay for all of this on my own. Even though my brakes didn't work, the accident is still my fault.
So anyway, it's pretty much between the trenz and carriage works. I don't wanna spend a lot of money on something that's going to peel in a few months.

As much as you won't like it let the tech or service manager drive it overnite.or for a day or two I know when I worked at a dealership I drove cars all the time and normally found the problem after I did drive it.I do know that techs DON"T get paid to just drive a vehicle so many don't drive them for long because of that.ALSO you need to be the one driving it and let the tech be the pass.SInce you can duplicate the problem and tell the tech when it is happening so when he drives it back he can get the problem to act up.STan
PS I am sure I will get alot of ***** for that statement but sometimes you have to do it or this is what can happen so don't even try to flame me on this one.If you don't like it to bad its the truth!

hey leann, not sure what part or how much you f'ed up.
it sounds like you don't have insurance. if you don't i have a upper grill shroud, brand new, unpainted (part the goes around headlights and upper grill), came with the upper harley grill.
u can have it if you need it.

LA....Your in between a rock and a hard place. I would go through insurance for now. I would also do a search (Call Mr. Skelton!) and search all the ford brake problems we have had. Many of us have had the exact same problem. It is only once in a while, so your right the techs won't find it "overnight" but if you can document your work orders, or service requests, as well as the many complaints from the members here, and give that to your insurance agent, they will get on it. Actually, my girlfriend is high up on the insurance claim thing (She works for a major company) I will ask her about this, and see if an insurance company can chase ford with information we provide. I know I personally have had serveral close calls, (one just two days ago) cause the brakes feel solid, then, woosshhhhh! Just like you say, nothing, feels like its on ice! I know your good buddy Rob, has had the same problem. Enough is enough, someone is going to get killed because of something that has been reported several times, but Ford has ignored. What would have happened if that happened as you apoached a cross walk????
Seriously guys I don' know how you put up with this girl. I am sorry that you were in a accident LeAnn, but why does that make the lady in the Mercedes a c**t, or a B**ch or whatever? You even talk about giving false info if you could.
I am calling it here guys. Flame me if you want, but there is absolutly no "class" in this situation. If you were to run into the back of my wife's truck and start calling her names and pull this crap you would get absolutly no sympathy from myself or my lawyer.
I am sorry for the rant, and believe it or not I am having a good day.
