I pulled the truck out of the garage on Saturday and saw a nice oil spot on the floor. After looking up underneath, I had oil pooled up on the bottom face of the front of the trans casing - near the inspection plate. Took it to the dealer today and we looked at it - can't exactly tell where it is coming from, so we cleaned it all off and put the dye in the oil to see if we can find the source. Looks to possibly be a rear main, or the RH head has lifted. Anyone else here see or experience anything like this? It is a 2002 with 14,800 miles.

Anyone have anything on this? This leak worries me... and how much ripping apart the dealer will have to do.

 

i'm not sure of how much you mean by "nice oil spot" but i was at jdm day made a 12.80 pass and when i cooled the truck down i opened the hood and smoke was coming from the bottom of the truck. It was an oil drip that was going onto the right side cat (stock cats). After it cooled i showed Shaun from jdm and told some others about it and they said that they all had it with their trucks. and when i looked under their trucks the oil drip was from the same spot, right behind the oil plug about 6 inches back. People with that promblem were making much more power then me so i'm not worring about it. P.S i have been consistatly checking it and it actually looks like it stoped or if there is a leak it might only drip one small spot every so often.
